Liberty Mind offers women in mid-life cognitive and behavioural strategies to manage physical and psychological symptoms. We recognise evidence shows CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) is a powerful tool to reduce the impact of hot flushes and improve wellbeing in menopause.

Why Liberty Mind?

Our psychologists understand hormones and know how to improve wellbeing in women in their mid-life . Their evidence-based methods enable women to take control of their symptoms by increasing understanding and adapting responses.

Our 4 week programme of CBT for Menopause will offer you information, stress reduction, management of hot flushes, and sleep improvement. We understand that despite CBT being accessible to most people, CBT therapists specialising in Menopause are few and far between. Our psychologists are menopause trained and can provide effective CBT for Menopause.

What is CBT?

CBT is based on the concept that thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and actions are interconnected. CBT uses positive techniques to change thoughts and patterns, to influence symptoms. CBT is recognised by medical bodies NICE and the British Medical Society as an evidence based solution for menopausal symptoms.

CBT can be offered as individual or group therapy. Although the content of group CBT is essentially the same as individual CBT, by receiving therapy in a group setting you receive encouragement from others. The shared experience of tackling menopausal symptoms can be very powerful.

Holistic care

Our therapists are experienced at helping women through a range of hormonal and life changes. They appreciate the stresses that women in midlife are under. They are skilled at treating a number of conditions including depression, anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorder.

Liberty Menopause

Truth is, I’ve had a fairly warped relationship with food ever since I can remember and after 30 years+ of disordered eating and then more recently coming into perimenopause, I felt totally resigned. And, despite the fact that I’d seen therapists in the past, I continued to struggle when it came to implementing and sustaining good habits. Things finally began to shift when I met Sabrina. Sabrina became my north star for all things nutrition. The combination of her expertise, wisdom and deep intuition made her approach to nutritional therapy potent . Sabrina took me under her wing and she was able to help me cut through deep mental barriers. She was able to help me accept myself, where I was in my life and most crucially, she was able to help me to internalise the fact that nutrition is more than food. She helped me understand that food is both life-force and a pleasure to be enjoyed – and on a practical level - she helped me to implement changes specific to my own needs.
